Go Karts are the springboards to lucrative racing careers. Many great drivers learnt how to maneuver and handle an automobile this way. The great thing about racing go karts is that you do not need a driver's license. So you can start at any age (parental permission pending!).

But where do you race? Well this is most likely to be influenced by your geographical position. Having the time and money to take your go kart to the best courses in the country is not possible for most people. So you may have to race locally. This is no bad thing. It gives you time to perfect your skills before you play in the big leagues.

If you show promise in the sport, you may want to get involved with the World Karting Association. This is the biggest karting organization in North America and has had over 50,000 members since its creation. Many great drivers have won the racing series held by the World Karting Association and this has gained them sponsorship and interested with NASCAR.
